Trentino’s network of cycling paths stretches from the Dolomites to Lake Garda. They connect the north – trough the road that cuts across South Tyrol – to the south – through the cycling path that takes visitors to the Pianura Padana – and the east – through the path to Venice.
There are more than 300 km of safe, well tended cycling paths in Trentino, which are available to everyone. All of the paths have been equipped with specific signs, refreshment points, bicycle grills and internet points. Cyclists can use the trains in Trentino to reach their starting and end points, so that they can enjoy the paths freely, to the best of their advantage.
The main itineraries are:
- from city to vineyard on the Valle dell’Adige cycling path (Valle dell’Adige Nord e Valle dell’Adige Sud) , the longest and most important path in Trentino with its 82 km route through the countryside, amid its orchards, hamlets and cities;
- the Via del Brenta is 45 km long, and is part of the Valsugana cycling and pedestrian path. It takes visitors to a series of small towns, as it travels along the bank of Lake Caldonazzo and the River Brenta;
- among the legends and peaks of the Dolomites, this itinerary is approximately 50 km long and travels through Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa;
- in the wake of the Ora and among the olive groves allows visitors enjoy the unique natural landscape surrounding Lake Garda;
- following on the footsteps of Charlemagne, takes visitors through Valli Giudicarie and Val Rendena;
- cycling among the churches, castles and mills on the Val di Sole cycling path.
